Many great projects were created using things found at thrift stores, and Thomas Tilley’s repurposed Paw Patrol toy is no exception. The Australia-based computer scientist transformed the toy into a functioning video game controller to play Sega’s Super Hang-On.

Tilley did this by removing the toy’s main PCB and replacing it with a Raspberry Pi Pico. After remapping its buttons, the controller was ready to go and worked flawlessly with the game. What’s more, the mod is easily reversible by simply unplugging the wires from the Pi and reconnecting them to the main PCB.
