PCB 12-in-1 Multitool Is the Swiss Army Knife for Electronics Prototyping
This compact PCB features a variable frequency generator, bi-directional logic level converter, multimeter breadboard extender, and more.
Nowadays, engineers and makers would welcome a multifunction tool to handle everything from frequency generation to a pulse generator with ease. The engineers from AJS Industries have designed a PCB 12-in-1 Multitool that can do those things and more. Having to handle multiple tasks on any given project can slow progress, which can be frustrating at a minimum.
AJS describes some of those situations, "Before adding an LED to your circuit (SMD or through-hole), it would be nice to have a way to easily test the polarity and that it works. When pulling a random resistor from your large unsorted bin, it would be nice to quickly test without fumbling with the contacts of your multimeter or looking up the color code. Trying to probe parts of your circuit on the breadboard while viewing the multimeter output can be cumbersome, so I was looking for a way to directly wire the probes to any part of the circuit."
As the name implies, the 12-in-1 Multitool features a variable frequency generator, bi-directional logic level converter, multimeter breadboard extender, and a LED tester (SMD and through-hole). It also packs a coin cell battery slot, resistor tester (SMD and through-hole), push button signal pulse generator, and 100 kOhm variable resistor output. Finally, the tiny PCB tool offers a scannable QR Code linking Digi-Key's Online Conversion Calculators, M2/M3 screw size and PCB tracing width reference, passive I/O push button, and a precision mm/mil ruler. The 12-in-1 Multitool is now available on Tindie for $15 and comes with all SMD components pre-soldered.
