Playing the Piano With a Computer Keyboard

German artist and composer Oskar Schuster recently uploaded a video demonstration of a new project he’s been working on: an Arduino-controlled upright piano dubbed Utopiano.

According to his YouTube description, “It’s an electro-mechanical device replacing the traditional mechanical piano action and allowing me to control my over 100 years old piano with a computer. I still need to figure out a way to dampen the strings, but it already sounds very interesting.”
