Way back in 2021 we covered the Pocuter, an all-in-one miniature computing device. It features very impressive specs, including a full-color OLED screen, microphone, accelerometer, and processing via an ATSAMD21G18A 32-bit Arm Cortex-M0+, along with an ESP32 that provides Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. In 2022, the Pocuter team developed a tiny retro gaming device called the PocketStar to take advantage of this hardware, and now they’re crowdfunding a full line of PocketStar Miniatures.

New miniature devices include the PocketStar Wide, which positions the screen in-between the directional pad and buttons; The PocketStar Arcade, which is a 75mm (around 3 inches) tall arcade machine; and a PocketStar TV, which looks like, you guessed it, a miniature TV. You can also get the original Game Boy-like original PocketStar if you so choose, or the previously-funded Pocuter DIY Smartwatch. Finally, there’s a stretch goal for a PocketStar Flip version, which will take some work to get just right.

These devices all feature an array of playable games, plus Game Boy and Sega Master System emulators. They are even capable of multiplayer gaming via Bluetooth or over the Internet. Finally, the PocketStar TV allows you to play stored videos or even stream content on it, which would be quite a nice doodad for your LEGO figures to enjoy.

As with most crowdfunding campaigns, some features are under development, but the series as a whole looks like a really fun take on tiny retro-gaming. Reward-level pledges start at $49 for one early bird PocketStar, or you can get 10 for $390/$470 depending on what is available when you pledge.
