Quectel Targets Rapid High-Accuracy GNSS Development with New LG290P and RTK Correction Bundle

Qualified bundles pack a choice of patch or geodetic antennas alongside the LG290P module and RTK Correction Service package.

Internet of Things (IoT) specialist Quectel has announced a new bundle that aims to make it easier to develop high-accuracy location projects — adding one of its geodetic or patch antennas to the LG290P Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) module with a side order of the company's recently-launched RTK Correction Services.

"Quectel’s attractive offer of antennas that are pre-integrated with modules greatly simplifies and streamlines development and certification of devices and now, by combining antenna and module with Quectel RTK Services, customers can derive even greater benefits," claims Quectel's president and chief sales officer Norbert Muhrer. "Customers want one-stop solutions that match the needs of their use cases, and this new bundle will help them bring products to market rapidly. RTK correction is a complex task and we’re able to handle it on behalf of customers, so they gain the ability to deliver high-precision location services without the hassle."

The new bundle is built around the Quectel LG290P, a quad-band multi-constellation GNSS receiver module that supports simultaneous reception of the GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BDS, QZSS, and NavIC constellations. Accuracy is improved with multi-mode and quad-band Real-Time Kinematics (RTK), delivering high-precision positioning even in deep tree cover and urban canyons — boosted still further through the company's RTK Correction Services, launched in partnership with global tier-one RTK correction providers.

Those picking the bundle up are given the choice of two antennas: the YEGN103W8A is an active geodetic antenna operating in the 1164-1300MHz and 1525-1606MHz bands with support for GPS, BDS, GLONASS, Galileo, and L-band reception and both magnetic and suction-cup installation options. The YEGD006U1A, meanwhile, covers the same bands but in a patch antenna format.

Quectel has confirmed it will be demonstrating the new positioning bundle at Electronica 2024, Hall B6 Booth 241; pricing for the bundle has not yet been announced, but more information on the LG290P module and RTK Correction Services is available on their respective product pages.
