Skylo Teams with Particle to Bring Satellite Network Access to the Muon, M-SoM Range

Deal will see Skylo-certified devices made available in the coming months, along with resources to get you up and running quickly.

Non-terrestrial network (NTN) communications specialist Skylo has announced a partnership with Internet of Things (IoT) company Particle, which will see the latter's platform receive integration for satellite communication — making it easier to deploy projects in areas where terrestrial networks simply can't reach.

"Skylo's mission has always been to make satellite connectivity available to all, and by partnering with Particle, we are empowering developers to create a completely new generation of IoT solutions that were previously unimaginable," claims Skylo chief executive officer and co-founder Parthsarathi Trivedi. "This breakthrough in IoT development provides a seamless, reliable link between edge devices and the cloud, regardless of location."

"With Particle's expertise in IoT technology and Skylo's innovative approach to satellite communications, we are thrilled to embark on this journey together," adds Particle chief executive officer Zach Supalla of the companies' deal. "This partnership is about more than just technology; it's about unlocking new possibilities for developers and businesses, enabling them to build solutions that can truly make a difference in the world."

The collaboration between the two companies will see version of Particle's M-SoM system-on-module and Muon development board certified for connection to the Skylo network available through the company's store in the coming months. Support will be available through both companies, the pair have confirmed, with resources made available to ease projects' transitions from terrestrial to space-based networking.

More information on Particle's range of IoT modules and development boards is available on the company's store; details on the Skylo network, which builds atop existing satellite constellations for global coverage, are available on the official website.
