The AirBolt GPS Tracker Lasts Up to One Year Per Charge
This device offers global live tracking and features GPS, LTE-M, and NB-IoT low-power cellular networks.
There are plenty of trackers on the market that will enable users to keep tabs on everything from their pets to luggage, such as Tile’s Bluetooth Tags and Vodaphone’s Curve, which are great products, but none can hold a charge for 12 months like the AirBolt GPS device. The rechargeable unit is small enough to fit on a keychain, in a suitcase, with a pet, child, nearly anything, and comes equipped with GPS, Bluetooth 5.1, LTE-M, and NB-IoT, which means it can be tracked anywhere on the planet, even underwater (it’s waterproof).
While it’s not clear what SoC the AirBolt utilizes, the company paired with Nordic, so chances are it houses an nRF9160, which features GPS, NB-IoT, and LTE CAT M1, or an nRF52 series chip that provides Bluetooth capabilities. That said, it also includes an accelerometer and temperature sensors, alert button, LED, buzzer, and USB Type-C port for recharging. The AitBolt syncs with Android and iOS-based smartphones and leverages Bluetooth when indoors and GPS for outdoor locations. The tracker allows users to set up geofencing, separation alerts, and water alarms, as well as pushing OTA updates to the tracker if needed.
AirBolt launched the GPS tracker a few days ago on Kickstarter and has well surpassed its $36,442 goal. Pledges start at $84 for the “super early” special, which gets you one tracker, but the company offers the device in packs, which top out at 10 for $684 (complete with charging cables for each). Shipping isn’t included, but a charge of $7.50 will be added to your pledge when the tracker ships.
