Engineering in the real-world is becoming increasing multidisciplinary, which is why Autodesk Fusion includes several different workspaces to suit roles that would traditionally require their own software. Now it is going to get even better, thanks to the new Avnet App.

The Avnet App is an add-in for Autodesk Fusion that leverages Avnet’s extensive experience and resources to streamline common user workflows, while eliminating many of the headaches engineers face each day. It will include thousands of reference design schematics that take advantage of data from Avnet’s partners, information on lead times for components in user designs, pricing information, guidance for finding and sourcing alternate components when necessary, data visualization tools, and more.

While working within Autodesk Fusion, engineers can access the Avnet App directly. From there, they can search for and begin using any schematics in the huge reference design library. The part search will help them source components, with critical information related to cost and supply chain health. If they aren’t satisfied with a component in the schematic, they can find an alternate using the same tool.

When an engineer is happy with a schematic, Autodesk Fusion gives them all the tools necessary to move through the design process and prepare for production. From PCB design to CAD modeling of enclosures, to CAM for CNC-milling of those enclosures, Autodesk Fusion is a complete solution. The Avnet App expands that capability and eases engineer reliance on outside resources that can be inconsistent and difficult to navigate, while simplifying the difficult task of sourcing parts for production.

The Avnet App is available to Autodesk Fusion users right now. To access it, simply select the Fusion App Store from the Add-Ins dropdown menu on the Utilities tab. In the store, search for “Avnet” and you’ll be able to download the installer for free.

And if you ever need additional guidance, Avnet has experts ready to help you solve any problems you run into.
