The New ELEGOO Jupiter Resin 3D Printer Is a Big Deal — Literally
The new ELEGOO Jupiter 6K MSLA resin 3D printer combines the quality of resin printing with the build volume of FFF printing.
UPDATE(9/13/2021): The ELEGOO Jupiter Kickstarter campaign has raised more than three million dollars in a few days and all early bird specials are gone. But you can still back the campaign and get a printer for $740 here!

Hobbyists today can choose between two popular 3D printing processes. FFF (Fused-Filament Fabrication) is the conventional process for consumer 3D printers. It uses spools of plastic filament, which the printer melts and deposits onto the build plate. Resin printers use UV light to cure photosensitive liquid. Resin printers produce finer details, but traditionally have smaller build volumes than FFF printers. But now you can get the best of both worlds with the new ELEGOO Jupiter resin 3D printer that features a massive 12.8" LCD.
The ELEGOO Jupiter will launch on Kickstarter at 2pm (UTC) on September 11th, but you can subscribe right now on the ELEGOO website to get the best chance at securing the Early Bird pricing. The Jupiter will retail for $1,300, but 500 Early Bird units will be available at just $600. That is about the same price that you would pay for the smaller MSLA (Masked Stereolithography) resin 3D printers on the market today. For comparison, the ELEGOO Saturn MSLA 3D printer with its 8.9" LCD retails for $500.
The most obvious advantage that the Jupiter has over the Saturn is build volume. The Jupiter's huge 12.8" 6K monochrome LCD allows for a 277.85 x 156.06 x 300mm (10.94 x 6.14 x 11.81 inch) build volume. That makes the Jupiter one of the largest consumer resin 3D printers on the market and more affordable than competitors that are a fraction of the size. The 6K resolution means that you aren't sacrificing resolution. The Jupiter's print quality should be similar to that of the Saturn.
In addition to the massive LCD, the Jupiter has some new convenience and quality-of-life features that are very attractive. For example, it has a resin-feed system that will automatically refill the vat when printing large models. It also has a replaceable active air purifier module to cut down on the smelly fumes associated with resin 3D printing. Instead of a removable cover, the Jupiter has an industrial-style enclosure with a hinged door. A large 5" color touchscreen makes it easy to load files to print.
If you want the quality of resin 3D printing and don't want to sacrifice the build volume of FFF 3D printing, the new ELEGOO Jupiter is the printer you've been waiting for.
