Waveshare has announced a new Arduino-compatible base board for the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 with the same form factor as the Arduino Uno R3, providing access to the standard Arduino's GPIO header. This allows for the use of most Arduino shields while providing more computing resources powered by an Arm Linux platform.

The aptly named CM4-Duino provides various useful interfaces and can be run on 5V via USB Type-C port. It supports 4K 30fps HDMI output, a MIPI CSI-2 camera interface, a USB 2.0 Type A port, and a M.2 M KEY slot for connecting communication module or NVME SSD for expansion.

The on-board CM4 socket is suitable for all variants of Compute Module 4. A microSD card socket is available for the Compute Module 4 Lite (without eMMC flash memory).

Even though it follows the Arduino Uno form factor, do take note that the pinout definition is slightly different as seen below.

The Waveshare CM4-Duino can be ordered directly from the Waveshare online store for $24.99. Before getting the Waveshare CM4-Duino, do check the availability of Raspberry Pi CM4 as there is a current supply shortage.
