YARH.IO Is a Hackable Linux Handheld Device

For a Linux-capable handheld with a beautiful industrial design, evocative of “lunchbox” computers of old, look no further than the YARH.IO MK1. This fully customizable device is based on a Raspberry Pi 3B+, enabling it to run the Raspberry Pi OS, or other compatible operating systems as needed.
The YARH.IO MK1's enclosure is 3D-printed, with every single component chosen to be easily sourced “with no custom PCBs and just a bit of wire soldering required.” The unit's top half houses the Pi itself, along with an 800x480 touchscreen and a swappable 5000mAh Li-ion rechargeable battery. The removable bottom portion adds a physical Bluetooth keyboard and touchpad, allowing for a more expedient interface than would be possible with the display alone. The build also features a DS3231 RTC module for when Internet connectivity isn’t available, and charging circuitry to keep it powered up.
Besides the rugged looking and 3D-printable design, perhaps the coolest feature is its expansion capabilities. The keyboard section can be replaced by different modules, including LoRa radios, RFID readers/writers, and IR transceivers, while the Raspberry Pi GPIO connections have been made accessible on the bottom sides of the main and extension modules.
