Reader for Reddit on Amazon Alexa

As an avid Reddit user I was disturbed by the lack of proper Reddit support for Amazon Alexa, so set out to build the foundation for a full Reddit client on the device. The skill is currently published and can be enabled at this link or built yourself with the below instructions.

Building:

• Navigate to the src/ directory, and run npm install

• Now that dependencies are stored locally, zip index.js and node_modules/ together. Make sure these are not hidden in a subdirectory inside the zip, but are rather copied to the primary directory when opened.

• The created zip is now fully ready to be deployed to AWS Lambda
