This project focuses on designing various components of a bumper car using SolidWorks. The objective was to create accurate 3D models of the key components, ensuring their feasibility in a real-world bumper car design.
Why was it created?- To develop SolidWorks 3D modeling skills.
- To understand the design process of vehicle components.
- To contribute to a collaborative group project by designing specific parts.
Component Design in SolidWorks
- Exhaust Pipes: Designed using the Extruded Boss/Base tool with internal hole features.
- Rubber Bumper: Modeled with rectangular cuts, 3-point arc smoothing, and extrusion.
- Gas Pedal: Designed with multiple extrusions and hole placements to control vehicle acceleration.
- Seat: Created using rounding and filling techniques for ergonomic support.
Assembly & Integration
- Components were modeled separately and later assembled to fit into the bumper car structure.
- The design ensures proper alignment, stability, and functionality
Final Testing & Simulation
- Finite Element Analysis (FEA) was used to test material strength.
- The bumper design was evaluated for impact resistance.
