My Plan is to assemble various sensor techniques to a self-driving vehicle to start moving and measuring the whole environment.
If you can barely see, my Robot is in a very basic state of progress. Actually he can drive around avoiding objects leaded by an accelerator and gyroskope.
After investing into a laser scanner and a spending lot of hours of work, he will be able to read the distance between himself and all the obstacles in the environment around him.
Goal is to draw a 3d map of the room using it in a virtual reality application for example. Many other use-cases are possible e.g. scan a room in the dark and draw an enlighted visual capture or draw a heat-map with temperature data measuring he comes around.
Other sensors used will measure acceleration, temperature, air-sense, light-intensity and many other environment data.
The final challenge will be much more difficult:
Imagine, replace the driving robot with a flying drone. You could control it remotely and all the way it is flying around it collects data from all of its sensors.
Self-flying and collecting data will be the royal-discipline and there would be a lot of use-cases in different applications using IoT.
