I live in Florida and my sliding glass doors face south so I have a lot of heat coming through them around. I wanted to buy something to help insulate the room a bit because it gets so hot. I’m talking about 10° hotter than the rest of the house. I just finished putting the film up so I can’t comment on how well it reduces heat quite yet, but I will come back and edit this again once I know for sure. What I didn’t want to mention, however, is that the privacy control film blocks 79% of total solar energy (TSER), while the so-called “Heat Control Titanium Window Film” blocks 72% of total solar energy (TSER) for twice the price. What that means is that the cheaper, privacy control film actually blocks the suns rays (both UV and IR) more effectively than the one that’s more expensive, but labeled as “heat control.” Don’t let their marketing gimmicks fool you. If you’re looking to buy a film that will help keep your room cool, the one you want to go with is the privacy control as it has the highest percentage TSER. You’re welcome.
