Good quality PCBs

Good quality PCBs
These boards are great. They feel like they are FR4 (not an expert on that so can't say for sure). They are very rigid, have a good weight to them, and are well etched and well drilled. The holes are centered well and all pads are nicely tinned. All in all, good quality boards in good shapes/sizes. Be aware that the mounting holes on these are very small (about 1.5mm or so). They won't take more normal, larger sized screws. Because the holes are so close to the corners, you can't enlarge the holes. The wire-to-board solder pads on opposite edges are a nice touch. Pictures attached of a stepper motor tester I made with the larger of the four board sizes. Don't judge me for my awful 22ga wire "traces!" Lol

These are a great value for people working with Arduino or other hobbyist electronic projects. My only wish is that they include a technical drawing showing the physical layout of the holes so that users would not have to measure them to determine where to drill mounting holes in their enclosures. The mounting holes are drilled to accept 2mm metric screws, or 2-56 screws. The centers of the mounting holes are 2 mm from the edges.

Surprised by the quality! Nice, big surface-mount solder pads along the length of both shorter edges of each PCB. Longer edges are printed with letter-indicators representing each column of holes on one edge—the opposite edge bears the printed PCB size (e.g. “5X7CM”). The best part? These features are on BOTH sides of each PCB, which is to say that both sides are workable (solder pads, tinned holes) and marked for convenience.

These are exactly what they say there are, and they are tougher than Most PCBs, ie, radio shack ones. However, don’t be like me and read it in inches and think this is too good to be true, because they are in centimeters. So off by a factor of 2.54, but that’s my fault for reading it wrong. But still a good deal for the price.

My preference would be for groups of five however those are difficult to come by and pricey when found. These work well for those simple little one off circuits. The holes are plated through and I had no issues with the pads coming off however I have not tried to remove any components yet. 22 gage wire will be about the largest wire that you can get in there. You can solder bridge these pads together however my preference is to use 26 ga buss wire and spegetti if necessary.

My only disappointment is that the mounting holes are a bit small and I am not sure you can get a number 4 screw in there. Mounting will require some thought and maybe a number 2 screw.

I ordered these PCBs because I needed one for a hobby project and the price was definitely right. The quality is good and the pad adhesion is good (which can be a problem with this type of product). I would order again.
