Module Working Principle:

  • Pull the Trig Pin to High Level for More Than 10us Impulse and the Module Start Ranging.
  • The Module Sends Eight 40KHz Square Wave to Detect Whether a Signal is Returned Automatically.
  • Finished Ranging, If Find an Object in the Front, Echo Pin will be High Level; Different Distance, Different Duration of High Level.
  • So It is Easy to Calculate the Distance; The Distance = (Duration of High Level*Sonic: 340m/s) /2.

  • 1. Before Powered,HC-SR04 Sensor Module Should be Inserted in the Circuit to Avoid Producing High Level of Misoperate; if Misoperated ,Power the Module Again.
  • 2. HC-SR04 Ultrasonic Distance Sensor is NOT Suggested to Connect to Electric Directly, When Connected to Electric, the GND Terminal Should be Connected w/ Sensor Module, Otherwise,it will Affect the Module’s Normal Work.
  • 3. When Tested Objects, the Area Range Should More than 0.5 Square Meters and the Plane Requests Smoothly; Otherwise,it will Affect the Results of Measuring.

    I first bought this ultrasonic sensor for making an obstacle avoiding robot. And as I was noob with this whole robot game at that time, I almost did everything accidentally that could destroy the sensor.
    I accidentally gave 9v as input 😂. And still, the sensor runs fine even today and I'm using it for my next project too. So, I rate it 5 out of 5. The only minor complaint was that the packaging was not so good. But never mind, they will get it safe and sound to you.

    It is a good and compact product to go with Arduino. I bought it for building a kit to measure the water level in the overhead water tank. Though the product worked fine, it failed within a week. So far, I have changed two sensors and I am sure that this is not suitable for this application.
