Works well for 2.1mm power supply needs. I wired this to a two way switch to power my hot wire foam cutter. The offset socket is a bit strange, but doesn't affect anything. I only used two of the 3 terminals on the back of the socket, and used solder as they are much too small for any other type of connector. I've run 60 watts through this (12v 5a) with no problems.

Take it for what it is, a cheaply made, but working jack for your non essential diy projects. I use these in scrap boxes that I mount correspondingly cheap amplifier boards from HK. The threaded length allows you to install these in boxes with up to a 7mm wall. Because the flange lip is so narrow, you basically must make an exact hole, a 12mm or 15/32 bit is needed. I believe a 1/2" bit would leave too large a hole and a 7/16" too small. Works well.

    Two problems:

    1. I placed my order on April 25th with 2-day shipping and the product did not arrive until May 5th. Unacceptable.
    2. The product arrived with only 1 of the 10 screw nuts, making the product useless.

The slow shipping and missing parts caused delays in product completion on my end.

    Very unsatisfied.

These are slightly bigger then I was expecting, but that is my own error for not reading closely enough. It seems to work better then the one I purchased from the local radio shack so it has that going for it. So far they have all worked and have done what they are supposed to so 5 stars here.

This product works, sizing dimensions are correct, and I recommend using this product. However, the connection points can break off easily. If you do not plan on working in a tight area, then this product will work. If the application may require you to move the jack during the build process or if there is a chance of hitting the contacts, then I would recommend purchasing Gino 5 Pcs DC025 3 Terminals PCB Mount 2.1x5.5mm Jacks Connectors Socket.

A bit cheaply made and the center pin tends to spin around, but a bit of solder on the center and a bit of care putting the nut on and they worked OK for my job.
