Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 19, 2018I'm using this with the Arduino IDE and ESP8266 / Adafruit HUZZAH, and found a library with the code I needed, it was somewhat easy to get set up for my project, and power consumption even on refresh is super low. Refresh does take a few seconds - if you need faster refresh you may want to skip the tri-color boards. Also, the way the display is updated, you'll need a device or board with a fair bit of memory.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 31, 2019Hardware is great from what I can tell. 4.5 stars. Refresh is slow but find me a supplier of budget e-paper technology hardware that isn't. Display is really sharp, retains the image, no dead pixels (although first device delivered to me was dead on arrival) I really like it.
Software included especially for Raspberry Pi / Python is lacking. Some libraries mentioned in the documentation are deprecated and the Python 3 folder just contains a copy of the Python 2 code which errors out when run via the Python 3 (even after you install Pillow)
Once I installed all the proper dependencies and ran via Python 2 I was in business.
Support documentation on their site is not the greatest. I like it when a company gives you the right information and steps to activate the device and then leaves you to your own devices to do something really cool with it. This company for this product kind of doesn't care to update the documentation to reflect the latest info at least for the device/language I plan to use (Raspberry Pi / Python 3).
Because I have to spend my time refactoring their code that is in a Python 3 folder to actually function within Python 3 when I feel that should be something that Waveshare should be handling and because they don't keep their information up to date causing a lot more time to be required to get these working they get dinged 2 stars for a rating of 3 stars.
If they were to improve and update the documentation so that someone following what they say could produce a working result then this product would easily be a 4 or a 5.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pantalla de cristal liquido

5.0 out of 5 stars Exccellent

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy setup and just works with correct library
The code example on here didn't work on the latest ESP32S3 as the pinout is different.
Example code from aptitude (previous review) uses the Library GxEPD2 by Jean-Marc Zingg which can be found on GitHub and works in Arduino IDE.
/*
ESP32S3 use SPI2
Busy => 18
RST => 8
DC => 3
CS => 26
CLK => SCK = 18
DIN => MOSI = 23
Keep Pin 13 Not connected as this is MISO (Unused)
*/
#include <GxEPD2_3C.h>
#define GxEPD2_DISPLAY_CLASS GxEPD2_3C
#define GxEPD2_DRIVER_CLASS GxEPD2_154_Z90c // GDEH0154Z90 200x200, SSD1681
GxEPD2_DISPLAY_CLASS<GxEPD2_DRIVER_CLASS, 200> display(GxEPD2_DRIVER_CLASS(/*CS=*/ 10, /*DC=*/ 3, /*RST=*/ 8, /*BUSY=*/ 18));
void setup() {
display.init();
display.setTextColor(GxEPD_RED);
display.firstPage();
do {
display.fillScreen(GxEPD_WHITE);
display.print("Hello World!");
} while (display.nextPage());
}
4.0 out of 5 stars E-INK Couleur
Produit de qualité. Fonctionne parfaitement. De plus le site propose des exemples de programmation pratique pour démarrer. Enfin le rouge rajoute de nombreuses possibilité d'affichage.
