I had worked with extremely cheap servos in the past and this one outshone them by a landslide. It is extremely strong and precise. With a voltage of 4.5v, it lifted 5Lbs with minimal strain. These servos are strong and reliable and I highly recommend them because not only are they quality but they are also incredibly cheap compared to competitors.
Much slower to respond than the stock rudder/nosewheel servo on my E-Flite Apprentice S 15E, and it's quite loud.
Oh, and also I think it has a slightly larger range of motion, because the built-in SAFE seems to think that a full deflection with this servo puts the Apprentice outside of its flight envelope if you're in beginner mode, and it automatically reacts in the opposite direction.
But it definitely *works* as a replacement, and is way cheaper. The reason for only 4 stars is just that's it's loud and slow.
I have bought 30 of those. so far 3 of them lockup after running for a few seconds. I might change my rating as i test the rest of them. the seller better contact me. Edit 1: 5 bad. they are hanging up the Arduino board apparently, as if causing a short or drawing up too much power. i'm testing one servo at a time using a setup that is successfully driving a good servo i had before. I get this issue only when i use a servo from this batch. Edit 2: looks like they are too power hungry...they run better on my arduino mega with a sensor shield v2 with external power (9v). further testing...
People don't like this because it's a cheap Chinese servo, and its predecessor is slow and has large steady state position error, but my experience has been good. I use it along with the RPM servo saver eliminator for ECX Ruckus 2WD and it has been bulletproof so far. Fast enough for bashing, accurate enough for bashing and super strong.
