Of the three probes, none provided a viable signal. Although they look EXTREMELY similar to similar capacitance-based sensors that are slightly more expensive, they are very much not the same. The only differences clearly visible from the outside are the use of a different 555 timer chip and different routing of traces on the back plane, but performance differences are obvious as soon as they are connected to power and a readout. I strongly suggest you do not purchase this variety of capacitance-based soil moisture sensor.
