I ordered this to replace a more precise, but apparently fragile scale after the second copy of the other very popular model failed after a few years. I decided to consider a somewhat more expensive option in the interest of greater reliability.
In terms of build quality, the weighing platform is metal and fairly weighty, giving to impression of being sturdy,. The display is an older design with fluorescent numbers and a dome switch keypad with buttons that click loudly. Whether all this is good, or just an old design, I will not be able to say for several years. I like the fact that the display tilts. That's handy.
This scale claims to be accurate to +/- 2g. I have a set of calibration weights varying in size from 10g to 500g. This scale proved accurate to the level claimed. This error percentage is, of course, greater at smaller weights. A 10g weight that displays 12g is off by 20%, whereas a 1 kg weight off by 2g is a deviation of only .2%. But, this is a postal scale, not a jewelers scale. With a limit of 50kg/110lbs, I do not expect high precision at lower weights, but this scale does a pretty satisfactory job of it.
Repeatability was so-so. With a weight weighing 20.0g, it may say 18g one time and 20g the next. That would be more acceptable if the weight was 19g, in between the two readings. But it's not. It's 20.0g, so it's slightly disappointing that it did not always accurately report a weight of 20g. That said, 20g on a scale with a capacity of 50kg is nothing. In my assessment, the scale does exactly what the manufacturer claims. No more, no less.
