At the price point, I give it four stars - for functionality, more like three and a half...

- Reviewed in the United States on August 10, 2014I was expecting much less than this for the price. The image is very good but you do need to focus the camera to get a clear picture. The LEDs are **very** bright and dimmable, but the dimmer switch offers very little control of the brightness. One extreme is off, 90% of the travel is so dim the lighting may as well be off and the remaining 10% offers very sensitive control of the brightness.
The camera picks up the image even in low light levels, so while the LEDs might be nice for some people (I'll never use them), a microphone would be much more useful than LEDs.
I bought several of these to use as hidden security cameras and needed to remove the housing to conceal them more easily. These were much cheaper than cameras designed for that and work perfectly. The circuit board measures 1 3/16" by 1". It is 1 1/8" front to back, but could easily be cut down to 3/4", under 1/2" would be possible.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 13, 2014The price of this camera is cheap, and that is exactly what you get when you receive it. The description boasts a decent res,, "up to 800 X 600" .. I really think it is no better that 320 x 240,, if that. The video is so grainy that this cam was pulled from service only a couple minutes after installation. The zoom is so tight that it is hard to use for skype or google hangouts. I would send this cam back, but the shipping is too much for the refund. I might find a use as a security cam or some other function that will not require a detailed video. Bottom line,, As tempting as the price is, get yourself a real cam.

3 1/2 stars really - don't know how to do that...
First, the PROs:
- webcam was purchased at under 8 bucks
- was successful at installing this webcam, plug 'n' play, on Windows XP and Windows 10 desktop PCs
- center lens focus worked for me
- with Windows 10, was able to access Skype and see good video.
- used iSpy software to view from webcam's perspective.
- webcam resolution in DAYLIGHT is very good. (I can see across my front yard, into and across the street, to my neighbor's home, which is under construction. (I will attempt to upload a short video byte which demonstrates this)
Now, the CAVEATS:
- the camera was unable to install successfully on a Windows 7 Home Premium desktop. Spent less than twenty minutes attempting to find drivers on the web. Ultimately I gave up.
- was TOTALLY unable to capture ANY "night vision" capabilities, since the webcam was mounted on an INSIDE WINDOW frame, and turning up the LED lights resulted in glare from the window glass, preventing any outside view. That brings the rating down 1 star.
- Skype session with no microphone included - minus 1/2 star for that lack of functionality.
(Would actually work fine if you have your own external mic, such as on a gaming headset)...
Bottom line: As an ad hoc "inside-the-house-mounted" surveillance cam, it's working for us, so far. Will adjust ratings accordingly after a few months usage...

- Reviewed in the United States on March 7, 2017Is it a camera? Yes...... Does it plug into the computer and provide an image? Yes.... Is it usable for skype video or any other instance where you would like to video chat with friends, family or business colleagues? NO!!!!........Not unless you want to sit literally 8ft away from the camera and then it will just be able to fit your head and barely shoulders in the picture. If you clipped this camera on top of your desktop or laptop monitor, you would literally only be showing your nose or one eyeball in the frame, that is how far zoomed in the camera is. And there is absolutely NO way to zoom it out! You are stuck with what it comes with.
There is what looks like to be a button on the top of the camera itself but when you push it, it does nothing at all. There is an in-line dimmer switch to adjust the brightness of the LED lights that are around it, but that it the only thing that works as expected. Other than that, this was a waste of my time to put up and I am upset that i have to spend the time to send it back. The reason why I put 2 Stars in stead of 1 is because it technically works.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 21, 2014I can't speak much on the quality of the camera but I can say it is very simple to use. We decided to try giving our puppy free roam of a couple rooms while we were gone at work and to check in and see how he did we used Skype set up on a home computer and called in from work. However, in order to make a video call you have to have a webcam also on the computer you are calling from. So I wanted a camera that would very simply just register to Skype that I had a camera installed, but I didn't actually need it to work well. I plugged this in at work and set it facing a wall. So I never actually even tested the quality of the video. But for an inexpensive way to check in at home, this was a simple plug and play option.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 22, 2015Life is like a box of Fosmon webcams; you never know what you're gonna get. Two of the three I ordered work perfectly (though there is no way to zoom in or out, except with software), but they do have quirks; the light wheel is exponentially touchy and the focus wheel is glued to the lens, which can come unglued easily. The third camera (all were ordered at once) no longer focuses because of this - I'm going to have to take it apart to fix it. However, the third one also seemed to come with a set of filters the other two did not - when I pressed the button the view flipped, or changed color, etc. I don't know if that's supposed to be there in the other cameras or not. I also need to fish around for one of my mini tripods, since the clip doesn't fit every monitor; mine is too wide, even as a flatscreen.
No problems have been reported from my brother or dad who received the other two cameras. But mine has been sitting in a drawer untouched since the day I opened it because it will not focus.

If it is too zoomed in turn the little gray part around the lens and it will zoom in or out

Seems fine. Only problem is that I bought it for an old computer - and no version of Skype will now provide video on pcs assembled before 2001 ie ones which lack 'SSE2' technology (whatever that is) in their CPU. Audio works fine. Haven't needed to try it on a more advanced machine. Very cheap!

5.0 out of 5 stars Works great with Windows!
I love that the image is zoomed in. Easy to use. Just search "Camera" or "Kamera" and Windows easily finds it.

2.0 out of 5 stars Sin visión nocturna ni manual
Solo esta iluminada por LEDS normales de baja intensidad, no tiene visión nocturna. Funciona pero no tiene buena calidad de imagen
