Flimsy and Useless

Flimsy and Useless
Compared to the standard jumper cables used for breadboard prototyping these ones are pretty useless... the wire itself is extremely weak, flimsy that makes hard and sometimes impossible to insert the cable in the pin hole of a breadboard as they just squish and wrinkle when applied pressure on them. They also break quite easily.

I read the negative reviews but ordered anyway because of the low price. I really dislike the long jumper wires that typically come with breadboards. These are so awesome coming from those. I've been using and reusing wires from this kit on my breadboards for a couple of weeks and I really don't have any complaints. I use tweezers when installing them and there is no problem inserting them in my breadboards without deforming. If I was using my huge ham-hands instead of the tweezers, I can see there might be a problem with the insertion and manipulation of the wires. They adjust well too. I keep a pair of strippers near by when I'm working so I can cut and strip them to the exact length I want if one of the stock sizes isn't to my liking. Recommended for anyone that work with breadboard projects.

What to say about these? These work just as expected. The wire is thick enough to sit properly in a breadboard and make good contact although sometimes they can be a little stubborn to insert because of how they were cut which creates a sharp chisel like end. I had some of these years ago that were rounded at the ends. When I received them, many of the smaller ones had moved between compartments so I had to sort them back out and I decided to count them while I was at it for the h@#% of it. I received two extra. Now if only they could make them so they don't stab your foot when you step on one because you didn't realize you dropped one of the itty bitty ones on the carpet.

There only problem is the wire seems to be more malleable and want to bend when you try to push them in a breadboard. You have to work at it but it can be done. I would not buy this again.

They are very flimsy and basically "buckle" under any sort of pressure to put the wires into the breadboard holes. Plus, sometimes the wires that looked plugged in aren't actually making contact or not connected properly. Not worth the time and effort trying to debug a circuit when the wires can't even make a connection because they're so useless. Don't buy these if you want to save yourself some time.

We are using these for our Raspberry PI Projects. Overall a good buy, only one problem build is not very solid and easily breakable. But if you use these carefully, these serve the purpose.

wire breaks easily with movement and bends not very consistent.

Nice kit for small projects. It has come in handy.

I made a set of these for ECE classes in collage 30 years ago, but I got back into circuits and needed to repeat... This was a great timesaver. A+++
