Great Line For The Money
I use this line in 10lb and 12lb test on my casting reels. The knot strength is good, it cast well and is very strong. I'm using it for weightless and top water baits. I have not had any issues with it fraying from coming over structures. It does have a fair amount of stretch, however that has not been an issue. I like the High Vis Green because it's easier for me to see, and it does not seem to bother the fish.

I've used Stren line for over 40 years with very few problems. Seems to still be good stuff. There are many things I buy as cheaply as I can, but fishing line is just not one of them! There are few things as annoying as getting a nice fish on the line and hearing a "SNAP!" and seeing your line fly away into the sea... That is NEVER a good thing. Stren line has been remarkably reliable in my experience. I've been fishing with their 12 lb test for over a month now and it has performed very well indeed. It seems to be the same high quality monofilament. There may be better ones out there, but I have had very good luck with this, so keep using it. I've heard horror stories from people using some of the newer and quite a bit more expensive lines... Plastics are a funny material. A little change in the formula can make a HUGE difference in longevity and performance. I'm not real fond of experimenting with something that already works. I tried a few other lines over the years and they never seemed to outlast the Stren. So, for now I'm sticking with it. Since I bought this new line, I've caught three very nice medium sized trout and a bunch of smaller fish and one that was the biggest that, like the cliche', "got away" within feet of the dock.... Ran the line out a lot, but unhooked right at the end. Good fighter, but I never got to even see what it was. Oh well. It happens... Haven't had the line fail yet and don't expect it to. Hopefully, you will get equally good performance out of it. No promises, though. Every fish is different... Best of luck...

I know it's not the exact usage intended for this, but I like using this super-thin fishing line for hanging things. I have hung up some of those little hanging crystal prism things in the windows, and also some flypaper outside where a bunch of flies like to circle in the shade. It's quite sturdy for its size, and not very visible.

I'm guessing it works fine for catching very small fish, but I haven't used it for that, yet.

    Stren High Impact Fishing Line
I bought this line for leader and for two ultra light casting rod and reels I want to use this year for panfish and local evening fishing around the area. It is plenty strong for it's size and weight rating and it comes off the spool without coiling like so many monofilament lines will. The big reel of this line will last me almost forever using it like this and the knots stay tied. I started using Stren Monofilament when I was young as cheap tippet on the Big Horn River and I can't remember any problems with it breaking or coming untied. The price is right in this high dollar fishing industry. Seldom will any new products come out these days, where they charge you a payment to buy it. Not me in regard to something as simple as buying a spool of fishing line. You may not agree but that's OK with me, as I have already learned a lesson or two. Four stars just so Stren doesn't get a big head.

I purchased the 12lb line to pair with my new baitcaster. I was looking for something light to use as I learned the magic of fishing with a baitcaster.
Overall, the line is solid and well worth the price. I have not experienced any snags while fishing (several outings and castings as of today). However, I have noticed some memory on the line after repeated use. I’m not sure if it’s from the few bird nests that I’ve had to wrestle free or the tougher fish. With that said, I’m satisfied with the line and will most likely purchase again.

I know there are some lunker catfish in our lake. My 8 pound test is perfectly adequate for most of what I catch. But sometimes I leave my pole unattended, with the bait sitting on the bottom. I got 20 pound test line for those times. I have always liked Stren. This line has good strength yet not much memory and it lies limp. Suits me fine.

I just love using fishing line for crafts. I have no idea how good it would be to fish, but this is very good quality: thick, strong, stretches, durable, etc. It is invisible in water and air so imagine the fun stuff you could create and hang up. Note: Parents with young children, this is a fire right up to the ceiling line hazard according to inspection. Also, choking and cutting hazard. Use under adult supervision. Same with all kinds of plastic thread.

Stren is a great name in fishing line. Grew up using the Stren original fluorescent blue fishing line and loved using the line as a child. Sten High Impact doesn't have the limp feel as the original Stren but the line is cheap and works extremely well for the average person who goes fishing less than 12X a year. With a name like Stren it's hard to go wrong.
