I purchased these because I wanted to use a non-breadboard-friendly chip (the ESP8266, among others) with my breadboard. Instead of crafting a breakout board, now I just use the female to male cables: the chip's pins go into the female side and I can place the male end wherever I want on the breadboard.

What I like most about these cables is that they're connected ribbon-cable style. You can peel them to use individually, or keep a strand connected for convenience. For example, I used a connected strip (black-brown-red) with a medium sized potentiometer. The wires stay with it, so any time I need to use a potentiometer in my prototype I can just plug it right in. The fact that the wires stay together makes it more stable and less of a mess.

The female-to-female cables are also useful for connecting pins on one chip to pins on another. In some cases this can conserve breadboard space. The male-to-male are just standard jumper cables. The plastic end of each cable is a bit loose, but all connections are secure. These cables would make a good starter kit, or simply a nice addition to your existing collection, to have a more appropriate selection of connection types.

Used this for my digital logic class and circuit analysis class. It was much more convenient to use this than to use the premade kit the school offered, since they weren't always conveniently long enough (or you had to share with friends since they didn't offer enough wires for some experiments).

If you're planning on taking any electronics classes that involve the use of breadboards, you should probably purchase this to save time and avoid frustration. Keep in mind that there are three different types of cables. You'll mainly be using male to male cables, so look at both ends before you rip one off the stack (each of the 40 clustered wires are stuck together by some thin plastic that rips off when you pull them apart; I recommend you leave them attached like that until it's time to use them as it makes it far less messy).

As an electrical engineer I l was looking for a quick and easy way to connect pins for development. These are great for breadboard work but in my opinion not much else. As far as jumping pins together for a prototype, they work okay but come apart a lot due to their loose connections. The heads also easily come off causing a lot of them to break as well. Good for a small project but as far as daisy chains go and permanent connections I would suggest wire wrap or a different connector.

Very high quality jumpers, good for prototyping projects. I see no flaws whatsoever, well packaged and connected in a ribbon as you see in the picture. The price is very affordable for this amount of jumpers. Note: the connectors are the familiar DuPont 0.001" spacing crimps with plastic housing compatible with Arduino/Genuino and other boards. These don't have any slop (where they can "lean" while connected in the socket) like the cheaper, cast jumpers. Also, they do have an appropriate amount of physical resistance when plugging (they shouldn't fall out easily). I purchased these after being fed up by the cheap bulk set I had previously. The cheaper jumpers can fall out and do not maintain good electrical contact which can be a pain for debugging (especially 20+ jumper displays). I would buy these again.

Good jumpers, but a little fragile.

These jumpers have worked great and fit into my breadboard perfectly, but I've only had them for a week or so and already one of the head's broke off one of them. To be fair I'm not quite sure how it happened, I just stumbled across it as I was cleaning up, so it was likely just 'user error.' Other than that these jumpers work just fine and are more than enough for an ameutur such as myself.

The pack of three different types of connectors is very helpful. I have boards with header pins and sockets, and this jumper wire pack provides connections for all combinations.

Each set of 40 has the wires connected together with insulation, so they're each like a 40-line ribbon cable with fly leads. I need to use them individually, though, but it's really easy to pull individual wires off the group as needed.

I'm not sure what the intended use is, but I used these to make a reset switch in a computer case that didn't have one. I was able to do so with a ton of spare wiring. Placed the switch in a discrete location on the back of a really small Antec ISK 100 case. Enough colors for me to pick the ones I liked best.

Perfect little jumpers. They fit nicely into every breadboard and chip I've used to far. You can also pull the plastic and pin off the end and solder one side directly to a contact if you need to. The pins themselves are actually made of a very small folded sheet of metal, but they seem just as durable as a solid pin.
