I tried to use the Male/Female ribbon cable, only to discover that the socket side is poorly formed.     120 cables in three "flavours"... Male-Male, Female-Female and ...yup, you guessed it, Male-Female. A couple of them were missing the end connectors but so far, the wires have all been solid. I've not tested them all, but I'm happy enough. The price I paid probably works out around 4p per cable. I wouldn't pay much more than that. There are cheaper options, but I wanted the Prime delivery that this offered.

    The product does exactly what you expect. Arrived promptly. No complaints at all in those regards.

    However they ABSOLUTELY STINK.. quite literally they smell really strongly of burnt plastic and made my whole workshop stink when I left them on the bench for a few hours.

    I've taken to leaving them by an open window, and just pulling off the strips I absolutely need for breadboarding, as leaving them near my desk is leaving a bad taste in my throat.

    I've tried cleaning the midsections, but that didn't help at all. I suspect the smell is resulting from the manufacturer just burning the wire ends with a flame to bare them before crimping.

    Imagine there is some poor soul in an Asian factory who is going to have terrible lung problems before too long. :-(
