- Reviewed in the United States on September 6, 2020Color: Jetson Nano Acrylic CaseVerified PurchaseThe case is great and I like how solid it feels once assembled. The problem is assembly can be a pain in the you know what if you don't have 3 hands. I went a little out of order from the video in order to make it work. it comes with some extra parts (screws and stuff) but ironically I was missing one of the plastic push button that hold the cameras to the case.
if I wanted to dock this case half a star it would be for the assemblies for the camera's. They don't seem to fit my Raspberry Pi V2 Noir camera's. I jerry rigged to work so it wasn't too big of a problem. The other small problem is the ribbon cables for the camera can be a pain to deal with but easily remedied with ordering shorter ones off amazon.
Pro's
Sturdy - doesn't feel like it will break if dropped
Clear - you can see everything, so ascetically it's pleasing
Supports 2 camera's
Con's
Assembly can be a pain
Camera assemblies are not cut perfectly
The fan is not a PWM fan so it's full blast all the time which leads to a high pitch fan noise 24 hours a day.
Note: I run my nano 24/7 and also with the fan my nano never runs more then 1-2 degrees over ambient. I also use a program called JTOP to view my nano stats easier (better then builtin tegrastats)
- Reviewed in the United States on August 27, 2019Color: Jetson Nano Acrylic CaseVerified PurchaseThe case is very good looking and it seems like it would do a good job protecting the Jetson Nano. I was happily surprised to see that the kit included several extra jumpers (I needed one to enable power through the barrel connector), and extra screws. I took one star off only because of the lack of instructions. Watching the videos was not easy, especially since the case is all transparent. Particularly difficult was to put together the camera case. The video for that was useless. I had to figure it all out by myself. In the end it looked good, but I shouldn't have had to waste more than an hour of my time guessing. I could have used a simple diagram and assemble the darn thing.

- Reviewed in the United States on March 19, 2025Color: Jetson Nano Aluminum Alloy CaseVerified PurchaseI researched every small case for my new Jetson Orin Nano devices and this one was not only the most reasonably priced but it's more solid and easier to use and configure than the rest. A bit more roomy that the others (except for the tower models, of couse) which makes life easier for big-fingered people like myself. All metal with clean stamping and fittings. I bought 3 of them.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 23, 2019Color: Jetson Nano Acrylic CaseVerified PurchaseI purchased this Jetson Nano case/enclosure back in November of 2019 and have finally gotten a chance to assemble it.
What I liked about it:
1. It's a nice, reasonably strong, clear acrylic case for your Jetson Nano that keeps it from kicking around, getting damaged, (etc.), while experimenting with it.
2. Other reviewers have mentioned that the fan is a two-wire fan - and the Nano's fan header is a four-pin header. They've updated the connector, (*NOT* the fan!), to a four-position connector so that it cannot be plugged in any way other than correctly.
3. The case is roomy enough so that there is little risk of wires getting pinched or being in the way. Likewise, there's room for air-flow. Cut-outs around the connectors are generous making them easy to fit.
4. I think the clear acrylic is a good selling-point, especially for the serious experimenter, as you can see all the markings, indicator, jumpers, LED's and everything else you may need to see. It also amps-up the "kewl!" factor for the geek/nerd crowd.
What I didn't like:
1. First of all - as everyone else has said - there is *absolutely no documentation whatsoever* - not even a slip of paper with a YouTube link/QR code for the instructions. Even the packaging itself has nothing more than bar-code labels written in Chinese.
In order to find the video, I ended up returning to Amazon, finding my order, looking up the item, and *THEN* watching the video. (This is not the only "clear acrylic case" for the Jetson Nano, so I had t make sure I had the correct one.) IMHO, this is a glaring defect for a product that should be "maker friendly", and I have subtracted a star because of it.
Once I watched the video, the assembly made better sense.
2. The video isn't has helpful as it could be, because the parts are clear acrylic against a white background.
Many of the parts have a specific "polarity" - they can be assembled in several ways, but only *ONE* is correct. When watching the video, the person picks up a (barely visible) part, flips it around in his hand once or twice quickly, (the video has been speed-up), and then starts tossing parts into it. The result is difficulty understanding what part goes in what position where. For example, the cut-out for the back plastic panel should be to the right-hand side, facing the back of the device. This is not at all obvious unless you look closely. Get it wrong and you can't insert the micro-SD card.
The people at Yahboom have taken the trouble to laser-etch their web-site's URL on the bottom, as well as their logo and a couple of helpful voltage designations on the top. They could have taken two additional seconds of manufacturing time and etched label and indexing marks on each of the parts to make them easier to find and place.
3. They provide no mention whatsoever of how to install the fan to the Nano. The correct answer is that there are four large screws that you drop through the fan's mounting holes and force-tap into the soft metal of the Nano's heat-sink. Facing the top of the Nano, USB/Video/Ethernet connectors downward, I routed the fan's power out the top left, down the side, and across the front to the fan's power header.
4. Fit-and-finish could be better. During assembly, you notice that things often are out-of-alignment by fractions of a millimeter here and there causing you to have to bend, push, or twist things to make them line up. Not a lot, but a smidge here or a tad there. In my case, the result of all these accumulations of tolerances is that one corner is noticeably warped downward and the top across the back has an upward bow.
5. After all this time, they still do not provide a true four-wire speed-controlled fan for their kit.
6. A picky thing perhaps, but they could have added four self-adhesive rubber bumper-feet for the bottom so it doesn't slide around on a smooth desktop.
Bottom line:
* Does it do the job? Yes.
* Is it worth the money? OK. I'm a bit disappointed, but not so much that I won't use it.
* Would it be worth an extra dollar-or-two for them to do a better job and include the correct fan and instructions? Absolutely!
- Reviewed in the United States on May 4, 2025Color: Jetson Nano Aluminum Alloy CaseVerified PurchaseThe aluminum case is a nice, airy kit with lots of ventillation but it leaves out a key component clearly shown in the photos -- no external antennas. The kit goes together well; it has lots of little screws and the instructions are thin (read: plan to figure out details by yourself) but the assembled kit is solid. The case has lots of slots for ventilation and the fan included in the kit is unnecessary for the Jetson Orin Nano - it already has a fan installed. One minor nit is that the microSD card is not accessible from the outside, but that is an Nvidia Jetson bug, not an artifact of the case. That said, you have to remove the plastic antenna bracket lack on the Orin Nano kit to fit it inside the box, so omitting the external antenna is a MAJOR failure.
Why do I expect a pair of external antennas in the kit? First, it is a metal box, so any antenna needs to be outside the box to be even remotely efficient. Second, the instructions have you remove the Jetson (plastic) frame that includes the original, basic antennas. Third, the video instructions CLEARLY SHOW the green box being assembled with two antennas as part of that process. Finally, the product photo shows two antennas; yes, they are grey and not black - oh, they just editted the black antennas out of the photo and put in grey filler pixels. Yeah. These last two points are terribly misleading and torpedo my assessment. One star.

5.0 out of 5 stars Acrylic Case a winner
Color: Jetson Nano Acrylic CaseVerified PurchaseThe case is a perfect match for the Jetson Nano. It looks very smart. The fan keeps it cool. Its very sturdy. Didn't appear to have any assembly instructions, but it was reasonably straightforward. Removing the paper protective coating was a little challenging, but did its job of keeping it scratch free. All good, very happy with this purchase
