Product Description

Rock Hard Plastics acrylic sheets feature a glossy finish that offers many benefits over glass. Acrylic / Plexiglass / Lucite is knowns for its sturdiness, durability, weather resistance, and beautiful gloss finish. It is much easier to work with than other translucent materials while also stronger and lighter. Great for thousands of different DIY projects, industrial applications, and commercial projects such as lighting, signage, aquariums, glass replacement, furniture, displays, frames, and more. These suggested applications may require knowledge of fabrication with acrylic and it is important to understand this item may or may not perform as expected based on how this raw material is manipulated, fastened, secured, placed under load or heated.

Nominal 1/8" Thick (actual thickness will be approximately .090" to .125"). Rock Hard Plastics acrylic sheets have masking (paper or plastic) on both sides. Allow + or - 1/8" tolerance in width and length. Remove masking to reveal a shiny finish. All 4 edges are saw cut.

Please be advised this is a raw material. As such it will arrive with saw cut edges and protective film on both sides but without any traditional retail packaging.

Absolutely perfect for my project
I set out to build a custom RGB LED shadow box for my wife for her birthday, and this product delivered exactly what I needed. If you're curious: 1. Light transmission is pretty good (see picture) with some Monster App controlled LED light strips 2. Krylon Colormaster paint and primer was used to make the boarder - and it came out perfect. Adhesives and paint both seem to bond well with the surface, surprisingly so and there is no chipping or scratching in the paint (4 coats black, 2 coats clear) 3. Once the protective membrane was removed the surfaces were smooth, shiny and scratch free Would 100% buy this again if I set out to make another shadow box, you folks make great stuff

    I dropped a star because of the packaging. Nothing was damaged, thankfully. But these were three 1/8"x12"x12" pieces of acrylic shipped loosely in a box that was 14"x18"x3" with absolutely no packing material, no paper, no bubble wrap, nothing.

    I used these for lenses in an overhead lamp. I wanted the LED bulbs to remain unseen but yet to deliver most of the light. They worked perfectly.
    Material can be cut on a saw (bench or radial) using a fine 80 tooth blade. I would not recommend any coarser blade as the acrylic may crack. In my case, with the fine blade it was a very clean cut.
    Definitely use a face mask or at least goggles if you need to cut.

    After installing camera's in my birdhouses quickly realized that there is just not enough light internal to the birdhouse to get a good view of what is happening inside and when the bird entered the hole it basically blocked all light and camera went into night vision mode. Having this frosted sheet was a game changer. It really lets in a lot of light even though it is frosted. It is easily cut with a hacksaw and one sheet can be used for multiple house. Now all my houses have decorative windows that gives me a nice color video of the progress of the baby birds.
