This is a really good product. I use it to power a raspberry pi system in the garden. Although this can power the pi directly with 5v I selected to use 12v because the project includes high powered devices with relays. I then have a separate voltage regulator for the Pi.
While I was putting this all together I stupidly shorted the rails more than once. The PoE adapter seems to have protection from this and it cut out immediately and no damage was done.
THis has been running for more than a year without any issues. Great price too.
