I am not an electrical engineer, i was told the remote I had may have stopped working because of the diode, the light at the front of the remote that sends the signal, in this case to an amplifier. I was able to solder a new one in place and it worked. very cheap repair as a new remote, which I couldn't find, would have cost around £70.
The only reason I have not given it a 5 star review is that there were 40 items, 20 senders + 20 receivers, I only used one sender and couldn't buy less. seems like a waste to me.
I must admit it was trial and error for the item, which worked first time, as i couldn't get the manufacturer to confirm the exact item I needed.
