Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

one can see that indeed with growing load, efficiency increases to excellent values - 83% at roughly 7% load is an outstanding value.
Only disappointment was for idle/very low load scenarios - wanted to use this for small solar installations where every mA (and idle consumption) counts. This is however a characteristic of most switching regulators and can't be counted negatively against this very device.
Also, out of curiosity, tested 3 different USB-cigarette-lighter car adapters - none exceeded 70% in any of the above load scenarios (which was a little surprising, giving that switching regulators are used there, too).
Would give 4.5 stars - a little reduced for the missing wire marking and the long shipping time straight out of China - but can't, so 5 seems more fair to the product than 4.
The shipping speed for this was, in a word, AWESOME. From China to my doorstep in 7-days, flat.
The converter, itself, appears to be of decent quality and should work just fine for my application - to use it as a USB charger on my scooter. All in all, I couldn't be more pleased. The only reason I dropped a star on it is because my phone, Nokia Lumia 1520, see's this as a "slow" charger.
Its not horrible but no way current output is 3a, i have had several smart phones plugged into it and each will only charge at the slow rate. Its useless to me now.
I use this in my car to provide 5v off the car battery. It has been on only when I am driving until now. Today I left it on for 4hrs in the heat of the day (98 degrees inside the car where the unit was) and the converter itself started to melt (the external wires were not hot). The outer case was too hot to touch and had splotches where the outer case had started to melt, and you could see through to the inside. The ONLY reason I gave this two starts vs one is it could of been faulty. I have a second unit I will be testing soon. Until then, I will NEVER use this converter unattended.
I bought this converter to hardwire a dashcam to my car. It worked fine to power the dashcam, but caused unacceptable noise to the FM radio. I removed this converter and replaced it with the Edo Tech Hardwire Charger Cable kit and the noise was eliminated.
I bought this to hard wire a dash cam in my truck to the ignition switch. When I turn on the truck it turns on the camera and same for the shut down. I also have a pretty substantial stereo setup and I am running a 5 channel amp and there is not a single noise bleeding through the system from this converter. I am very happy with my purchase.
This transformer worked perfectly to replace the failed Garmin GPS transformer that came with the GPS that I use on one of my motorcycles. It is much more rugged that the one that came Garmin GPS.
I used one of these to get the 5V to run some hard drives off a 12V supply. The drives survived and the resulting system works. It's the same little buck regulator they use in those "USB" phone chargers that fit in an auto cigarette lighter socket, but in a more convenient case for my application. Doesn't get warm so it must be pretty efficient. I haven't measured that yet.
