Scheppach SD1600F Variable Speed Hobby Scroll Saw 240 Volt complete with 103 assorted accessories contained within a wooden box

This saw comprises two machines in one! The scroll saw takes care of the rough job, while the flexible shaft with drill chuck does the fine work.

For fine scroll saw work you need smooth edges without burrs in the cut shapes.

For this job, a multifunctional machines like the scheppach deco-flex is indispensable, as it saves an additional sanding unit.

On the top of the SD1600F there are two seats for the sawblade adapter that determine the correct length for sawblades without pin. The electronic speed control ensures a continuously variable working speed matched with the corresponding material. The solid parallel arm and the large, polished table top of aluminium, together with the work piece holder, guarantee optimum safety. A flexible work light to be switched on separately, ensures good sight. The suction connection piece guarantees clean work.

The flexible shaft is ideal for smallest tools for drilling, sanding, polishing, engraving, brushing and moulding.

    This really is a great piece of kit, the price is so small that there is no need to look for a second hand machine, buy new and have the peace of mind of a warranty, and knowing that it has not been burned out before being sold on. I only tried a couple of bits of wood through it today and already my youngest Son is designing and getting ready to create work too, he is 14 so quite old enough to use it. I do sign writing as a hobby and this is going to improve my output immensely. I was amazed at how quiet this unit is when you switch it on. great for really intricate work and enjoyable too. no workshop should be without one. add it to your wish list!

    I have owned three different scroll saws, and this 15k Einhell replacement, as well its extra flexible drive shaft, is a pleasure to work on. One problem I did experience was locating the lower the (no pins) blade holder onto the machine. (I had the same problem its predecessor, and solved it by removing the side cover. However what a surprise, on this machine when cutting pierced pieces, when releasing the blade from the top holder, the bottom one remains firmly in place, allowing you to thread the blade through the next hole quickly and easily.
    Vibration is low, and the air blower effective. (I now hold the side panel in place with a couple of strong earth magnets, making it a work of a few seconds to remove, or replace.)

    This is my first scroll saw. After the excitement of initial cutting the saw's weaknesses become evident. It doesn't like cutting straight, it's virtually impossible to thread blade for internal cuts, it rocks and rattles a bit. Would buy a different make next time.

    I can only give this machine a 1* rating. Arrived fast. Well packaged. Simple to assemble, easy enough use and to remove and re fit pin blade when working on tricky designs. Not too noisey and little vibration. Variable speed control is also a bonus for the price and you get the little scribing pen with the dinky attachments.
    BUT!!!!!!!!!!! A totally frustrating nightmare when using pinless spiral blades. I would like to meet a sales rep and see him fiddle about 20-30 times fitting a pinless blade on the one workpiece.
    If you use pinless blades I don't think this machine is for you.
    I should really give it 3*** 's because it'actually not too bad. But I have 100's of PINLESS BLADES. As you know with pinless spiral blades you don't have to rotate the workpiece, as the blade will cut in any direction. I have been able to comfortably complete projects
    2ft-2.5ft long on a similar size machine.
    Since last review I have been using this machine regularly and found that with continuous use, you do actuaĺly get use to the blade change.
    I have got the nack as they say. Duel blade use to me is now worth 3***.
    Scheppach please forgive my original comments. It is a reasonable scroll saw.

    Delivery of my new toy was excellent and it arrived on time. Set up was easy and with a bit of tweaking I was soon into cutting my first shapes. I've never used a scroll saw before so I was a bit cautious at first, but after five minutes of practice cuts I was able confident enough to embark on the main reason for buying the saw - cutting circles out of 6mm ply....made up a jig to allow me to rotate the work and hey presto ... perfect circles !!! Vibration and noise are quite acceptable and although I've not used it yet, the dremmel type attachment is handy. All in all I'm a very happy bunny just looking for more things to cut up now 😃
