The PCA9685 is a 16-channel, 12-bit PWM servo driver IC (Integrated Circuit). It allows 16 separate PWM signals to be controlled via a single I²C interface. It can be used to drive servo motors, LEDs and other PWM controlled devices.

The PCA9685 servo driver can be connected to a Raspberry Pi, via the I2C bus protocol. It allows the Raspberry Pi to generate the PWM signals and send them to the connected servo motors or other PWM controlled devices. Thus, the Raspberry Pi can be integrated into an automatic control systems and robotics.

With the AZDelivery PCA9685 pulse width modulation is simply fun. With a adjustable pulse frequency of up to 1.6 kHzand 4096 steps for each of the 16 outputs even the most subtle signal changes are possible. Unlike the also popular TLC5940 the PCA9685 brings its own clock generator with it. Your controller therefore only has to transmit changes and the driver passes on the signals independently. The daisy chain layout of the board prevents cable chaos and allows the comfortable connection of up to 62 separately controllable drivers with only one controller.
