    Smaller Dremel works great!
  • Reviewed in the United States on May 10, 2024
I had a battery dremel that was 12 years old and not holding a full charge anymore...causing it to not work after dog #1 of 2. I went corded to hopefully not have this issue anymore; and was right. I have 30 pound dogs and can only use the slow speed, but it does the job and doesn't lose juice to finish them all. The cord makes different angles tricky, so the first few times have taken a bit longer...but not as long as waiting to charge my battery one to finish the other dog's nails. I bought a separate attachment head so that I could add my diamond file head to this dremel...I don't like the sandpaper heads...and it was easy to install and works great!

I use this to polish jewelry. Especially older pieces. Use the lower setting, the appropriate polish for the metal, and the wool spindles. Make the pieces I cleaned up look brand new.

After owning a couple of nail grinders (including one from Dremel), I got tired of the battery losing charge before I cound finish all four paws on my large breed dog. For this reason, I wanted more power and something non-battery. After seeing another reviewer say they used this successfully on their great dane, I wanted to give it a shot.

This Dremel is perfect for the task of grinding a large dog's nails. It already comes with the appropriate attachments and it isn't overly loud. Best of all, I never ran out of "juice", and I can use it for other tasks. It is a bit heavier in the hand than Dremel made specifically for dog use, but I did not find this problematic at all (and I'm a petite woman with a small hand). It will also work well with smaller dogs, but is probably more than what is needed for a small dog. I definitely recommend it if you have a large dog or several dogs.

    Perfect replacement
  • Reviewed in the United States on August 13, 2012
The grout between the tiles in the kitchen counter was saturated with grease and needed replacing. Purchased this tool (with grinder guide and 1/8 inch bit) to grind out the old grout. It worked quite well, digging nice, deep furrows into the old hardened grout.
The guide allowed me to keep (more or less) straight down the planned path, with no damage to the tiles. And that even though I had no previous experience with similar tools nor with the specific task. Given that I was quoted USD500 and up for the job, the USD80 price tag for this unit is money well spent (and now I have one more toy in my toolbox).
Quite noisy little gizmo: had to wear -29dB hearmuff to avoid becoming fatigued. The high RPM motor and lack of a safety switch (someone already commented on it) make this a tool to keep out of the reach of wife and children. Eye protection is a must when using this tool.
The accessories provided are only a small sample of what is available, but seem adequate for a casual user like me. Regret no pouch/box is provided into which to keep all the pieces together with the motor handle, as the shipping box is simple cardboard; an old cookie tin does the job, lined with foam to prevent dulling the tools' sharp edges.
The on/off switch doubles as a speed selector and sits very near the hand grip, which makes it easy to change speeds by accident (a minor flaw in my mind).
I would recommend this model to a friend.

Bought this product as I was about to do a very overdue brake job. Too many weekend got away and we were dealing with very corroded calipers and nearly welded on brake pads plates. That's why I say this was essential. It did exactly what I needed and and the little kit it came with had every bit I needed. It was easy to use...two speed..light and easy to hold. Small enought to get in the corners but there was no issue with power...it really just went to work and cleaned up a lot of problem in a hurry. When I put the sliders and pads back in place they were able to fit in snug but with freedom to move. If I didn't have this tool I wouldn't have been able to complete this job. Have used it for other issue around the house and I'm just really happy to have it in my shop. Great on making outlet holes in drywall.
