Smart solutions for water quality monitoring are gaining importance with advancement in communication technology. A power efficient, simpler solution for beach or lake water quality and air quality monitoring based on Internet of Things technology is presented.
The model developed is used for testing air and water samples, and the data uploaded over the Internet are analyzed. The system works like a Donkey Car, with a Raspberry Pi connected to a camera, a GPS to know where it is, a GSM module to communicate the data in real time and a sound detector to prevent collisions.
In addition, it will have sensors to analyze water quality and air quality.
Based on the corrected data, a real-time map of air and water quality is created.
The system detects the battery level and is able to return to the base before it runs out. In case it is impossible to return, the GPS system can send a warning with the GPS position to indicate where it has been.
