About
This project involves creating objects from paper and cardboard to illustrate four concepts: hot, prickly, moist, and mushy.
HotA coffee cup sleeve. I decided to create an object that doesn't illustrate "hot" in a more literal sense, but the concept is instead derived from how the object is used.
PricklyA small sculpture that shows small paper horns/needles poking through both sides of a piece of cardboard. I played with color a little bit to suggest something corporal.
MoistAn "origami" style sculpture that's made of wet paper. While the surface of the paper itself is moist, I attempted to push the concept further. I dripped some ink on the paper to add the illusion of depth and illustrate how moisture is trapped in crevices of an object.
MushyA small sculpture that's made of, wet paper. I started by ripping up a few sheets of paper and leaving them in a bowl of water overnight. Afterward, I condensed the material to make a small box whose texture looks soft and mushy. On top of it, I added paint to make it look "moldy".
