New Serial to Ethernet Introduce

WIZnet has recently released a lot of products using Raspberry Pi's MCU, RP2040. The recently released products are the W5100S-EVB-Pico and WizFi360-EVB-Pico products. All of these products are development boards using RP2040, and Ethernet and Wi-Fi connectivity are provided.

And the next action of WIZnet is the new Serial to Ethernet product using the RP2040 and the new IO module. These products have not yet been officially released and are expected to be released sequentially in June and July.

So, in this article, I am going to briefly learn about the new Serial to Ethernet product which RP2040 is applied and the new IO product.

There are three types of new Serial to Ethernet products to which RP2040 is applied.

• WIZ500SR-RP
• WIZ505SR-RP
• WIZ510SR-RP

These products are hardware compatible with WIZnet's existing Serial to Ethernet modules, WIZ100SR, WIZ105SR, and WIZ110SR. People who use existing expensive products will be better off using the new ones. The table below is a comparison table for the three new products.

You can look at this table and choose which product is right for you. I will briefly summarize each product.

WIZ500SR-RP

WIZ500SR-RP is a Serial to Ethernet product compatible with WIZ100SR. And this product without RJ45 and DB9 connectors. Ethernet and serial interfaces are connected by 2.00mm pitch pin headers. It has the advantage of being able to use the connector that the customer wants directly and the board is small.

WIZ505SR-RP

WIZ505SR-RP is a Serial to Ethernet product compatible with WIZ105SR. And this product without a DB9 connector. Serial interface is connected with 2.54mm pitch pin header. It has the advantage of being able to use the serial connector that the customer wants directly.

• DB9 not included
• 3.3V operation
• Temp: -20 ~ 85°C
• 40mm x 62mm x 18mm

WIZ510SR-RP

WIZ510SR-RP is a Serial to Ethernet product compatible with WIZ110SR. This product has RJ45 and DB9 connectors. Therefore, customers can use it right away without worrying about the connector. Putting this product inside a case makes it a great external device.
