For this first project, I decided to make a soft light lamp using simple everyday materials like a plastic cup, lids, cardboard, and others.
First I wanted to use Vellum Paper as a diffuser, so I had to cut it so that it would fit the cup, I also cut a small circle for the bottom of the cup. Next, I measured and cut some cardboard which would serve as the base and the place where I would place the switch, potentiometer, cables, etc. I then attached this cardboard to a plastic lid, the lid would serve as the base for the circuit and the connection between the diffused cup and the cardboard base.
The lid had some holes cut to fit the alligator clips and the battery cable, I also made a small platform inside the cardboard base where the battery would go. Finally, I made 2 holes and I attached the switch and potentiometer to them. After I connected all the clips and cables the lamp was working as expected.
For the code, I used this guide https://learn.adafruit.com/make-it-change-potentiometers/makecode for the Potentiometer coding especially when it came to the brightness adjustments. Also, I added some minor things based on what I know to make the switch work as well.
