Today people are carrying weapons freely, it is becoming a menace to have one's eyes, set on everyone to identify the danger on the streets, specially the police.
Weapon Detection on Body Cameras can alert police to check for dangers in the blind spots. With the advances in technology, and ability to bring computer powered vision on to low powered devices, we can add the intelligence of AI on to the cameras and provide alerts to the police on the street.
For this one, I have created a simple application on Edge Impulse to create a Tensorflow lite model on OpenMV Camera.
I have used only 2 objects for classification.
a). Smart Phone b). Pistol
This model deployed on OpenMV Camera will be embedded into the body cameras of police and is able to detect when a person is drawing his weapon on the police and alert them
Even with low accuracy, these alerts have the potential to save the lives of the people, who keep the world safe.
