To celebrate 50 years of Free Speech, since the Free Speech Movement in Berkeley, I have created an interactive application. The application first starts with the smart phone. The phone has the ability to connect with your watch and install the FSM application to the watch.
By clicking the install button the user will now be able to use the FSM watch deck of cards notifier to receive updates to go with the FSM application.
The application is triggered by one main event. You must be within 50 Meters of Sproul plaza for anything cool to happen with this application. This helps the user feel like they are a part of the Free Speech movement because they are at the center of where it all happened. Until this event occurs, the application remains pretty uninteresting. However, once in sproul plaza the user is immediately notified by a notification that pops up on the watch(it also vibrates). This notification will give one of the 6 main activists of the Free Speech movement. Once this notification is sent the user is able to look up a card corresponding to the name they have received. Once on the card, the card will show an illustration of the person and an action the user needs to complete. Once the user opens up the card, the drawing activity will open up on the Android FSM smart phone application. The user will then draw a picture corresponding to the instructions on their card.
The user will then click the upload button when they are ready and will be able to select and upload their button to flickr. Once this is done the user will be prompted to return to the initial FSM application screen. When they return to this they will receive a special card on their Toq watch with a random picture selected from the 'cs160fsm' tag on flicrk.
Below is a video I have created to illustrate the interactions!
