Abstract : The project is focused in a building a Voltage, current, temperature measuring device along with WiFi transmitting device to send and store data in cloud. The parameters, voltage and current are entry level parameters for any electrical operating devices testing. In current market, low cost measuring devices with low resolution of accuracy to high cost high resolution devices are already available. But, with increase in focus on global greener mobility, Electric mobility industry is rapidly growing. These industries are having greater dependency on external vendor built raw materials like Motors & Batteries. Hence these industries are forced to buy individual testing beds for the sourced material, though all testers utilize the same parameters : Voltage, current & temperature.
In this project, hardware will help in fetching the data from sensors and perform the basic computation. In normal mode, the device will operate as a normal multi-meter and on test mode, device will start logging the data to the server and computation and results will be displayed in the server.
Advantage :
Each battery will have its own charging and discharging curve, similarly each motor will have its own speed torque characteristics. These characteristic can be trained or fed into the system, making it as a universal test bed.
This system can act as a platform and using the available parameters, user can built their own tests.
Story :
As a member of Start-up company in Electric mobility space, multi-meter is a integral part of our daily routine. With cost coming into play, we have trade-off reliability and features. Most of the data computation happens in excel and would require some manual efforts to come to an conclusion.
