Let's look at the sort of cheap bluetooth speaker available for very little money in many parts of the world and see what we can reuse for parts.
This device has been in my parts bucket for a while now and since I wanted a battery, a speaker and a case for my junk drawer project it seemed the ideal time to break it down and see what goodies are inside. They still have them on sale in Poundland (UK) at the moment for £4 and if I was buying one specially for my project I'd have bought the black one and made it spooky.
Taking a look at the outside of the case.
Let's take a crack at getting inside. Let's look under the rubber footing.
Four screws. That's a good start. Let's take them out.
Well, that's interesting a circuit board marked FM_Antenna right at the bottom of a device I didn't even know picked up radio.
Time to see what's under it.
Deadend.
Time to look at the top. Let's take that rubber mat from the top.
Four more screws.
So we're not quite in yet. Let's have another go. Let's peel down the fabric and see what it is hiding.
Opening the screws reveals the perfect case, battery and speaker for my junk box project and the few bits not being reused can be dropped into the parts bin and be used for another project. It's a score :)
All in all a great little break down and with nothing going into the bin now and very little ending up in landfill in the term.
