When creating eletronic circuits more ofen than not an extra set of hands are required to hold to compomets. While the assembler holds the iron in one hand and the solder in the other hand the componets are usually held in postion by the use of a "Helping Hand" jigg.

Using the jigg allows the componets to remain in contact while the assembler uses their hands to hold the solder and iron while making the solder joint. While this methos works it can be time consuming resetting the jigg for each new solder joint. The time spent setting the jigg can be removed by having the user hold the componets while a robot arm applies the solder at the correct point.
Overview of the systemThe camera will use AI tecnolgy to recogise the soldering iron, the componet and the solder. It will then use a depth calculation from a stereo camera to move the solder to the correct 3D coordinates.
The initial planMy intial idea was to use a stereo camera to mimic how a humain opperator would preform the task, however this this did not provide the accuracy required to connect the soldering iron, the solder and the componet.
