I'm genuinely amazed by ChatGPT, especially its ability for generating text and having meaningful conversations. Humans and ChatGPT both create text, though while chatGPT relies on large pretrained model, humans rely on keyboards to shift thoughts from the real world to the digital realm. In my opinion, It's just a matter of time that ChatGPT and a physical keyboards will merge into one.
About 5 weeks ago, I had exactly this thought, it had reminded me that I built myself a keyboard 7 years ago and it still serves me really well to this day. I have firsthand experience in building and using one, so I know what went well and what went wrong. So based on that I decided to fully immerse myself into this journey, to spent time, money and effort.
5 weeks later, the keyboard is born and I call it: The Generative kAiboard.

TheBuild
The project is still ongoing, when I have time, I'd love to go deeper into how the keyboard was build, design decision etc, for now you can find the source file and the current (crude) version of the SW here on my Github. In short, for the HW I was using Altium Designer, for the Software I was using Platform IO with Arduino framework and the housing was done in Siemens NX.
This is just a start for me, for this project especially, so looking forward to your feedback!
