I started out wanting my ring to have fruit on it because I thought it symbolized me well, but when I saw a banana and recognized its crescent shape, I decided to go with a moon and star, and I made it green to represent the Pakistani flag. The crescent and star are also symbols in Islam, and a quick Google search also indicated that they are common features in Sumerian iconography, and with my name being Sumer, I immediately thought to reference that as well.
I didn't realize how tough it is to use 3D modeling software at first, so it took me a lot of time to even come up with this design. Once I got the hang of it, it was only slightly easier but by then I also had come up with my design already, and I'm happy that the sizing was perfect!
