Battery management is most crucial part in Drone system. Use of quality and authentic batteries and parts brings most reliability for delivery drones – used in pandemics. Further, Drone manufacturers would allow only authentic, reliable parts to be used. An NFC Tag integrated into BMS opens this possibility. An NFC Tag integrated into the BMS PCB offers alternative access to µC, peripherals and data in the Drone system. These can be read out and controlled with NFC mobile and interpreted there (e.g. Current voltage, amperage, temp., GPIO toggle etc.). Data can be verified as well with e.g. service in cloud. NFC reader can do authentication (AES-128) to NTAG 5 in order to allow restricted access to functionalities. With support of crypto on BMS µC S32k1, also NFC communication can be secured.
