Cafeino: The Barista Robot

Cafeino is a connected robot that makes high-end artisanal coffee mimicking the hand pouring technique of a skilled human barista. It has three brewing station you can customize with brewing recipes using a web app.

With the web-based recipe creator you can add brewing steps and customize several parameters as brewing and resting times, water quantity or the hand-pouring pattern used to make your perfect cup of coffee.me.

The current prototype uses an electric kettle to keep hot water at a constant brewing temperature close to 90 degrees (Celsius).

Cafeino uses an Arduino nano for controlling core functionalities as servos, water pump or the stepper motor. And a secured WIFI ESP32 dev board for connecting and managing the IoT infrastructure updates (based on AWS IoT). This architecture ensures even offline or while updating settings Cafeino can continue working making coffee without interruption. All device settings, configuration and recipes are accessible using an Internet web app (not a local connection).
