I am Shaquille Walton, a software engineer, and this is my story on the creation process of my "Handy Weather APP - Alexa skill". First, I received an email notifying me that Amazon was having a developer contest. I created a Hackster.io account and began developing my Alexa skill. I wanted to come up with an idea that was quick and easy to implement, so I realized it would be nice to simply ask my echo device (if I had one :/) what the weather is like current day. I found a free RSS feed with weather information for Lakewood, California. Then I simply used the amazon developer console and set everything up with that tool.
