AI based video analytics
CCTV surveillance is widely used for security purpose. In traditional way of CCTV surveillance based security system the video data from all the connected CCTV cameras are collected at one central point. Where, it collectively monitored by the security staff. To monitor all video data for 24*7 hours is the tedious task, it requires more manpower. Even though large number of security staff assigned for monitoring the CCTV surveillance, there is strong possibility that they miss any inappropriate incidence. So traditional way of CCTV surveillance is useful to find out what and how the wrong incidence happened. But, it is not that much helpful to prevent that wrong incidence.
Here comes the need for AI based video analytics. It increases the efficiency and reduces the required manpower. There are many use cases where, AI based video analytics can be used. At public places it is useful for security purpose, but at commercial places apart from security it can be helpful to decide the business strategy.
The detailed use cases in different areas is given below
1. At public places.
Eg. market, bus stand, railway station, airport.
i. Face detection:
a) Face detection using the AI is can be used to find out the criminals from the video stream.
b) It can be used to find out the missing person.
ii. Motion detection:
Finding the suspected motion of individual or the crowd from the live video stream can give the alarm or indication that wrong incident is happened or going to be happened.
iii. Crowd detection:
At the bus stand crowd detection in the specific platform can give information that the number of passenger for specific route is increased which can help to increase or decrease the bus frequency for that route. Also it can give significant information for traffic management for that route.
2. At road surveillance :
i. License plate detection:
a) It help to find the criminal vehicle.
b) Help to find the vehicle which breaks the traffic rules.
ii. Crowd detection:
Crowd detection helps to traffic management to solve the traffic jam problem .
iii. Motion detection:
It can be helpful to find the occurrence of accident, and helps to provide the nearby ambulance service and traffic management in that route.
3. At the bank and ATM
The motion detection is used to find out the inappropriate behavior in or outside of the bank and ATM which can trigger the alarm and helps to stop the robbery.
